The work involves responsibility for the performance of a wide variety of complex professional engineering duties of considerable magnitude and importance in the Department of Public Works.  The work is carried out in accordance with standard, well established and accepted professional engineering methods, techniques, and procedures and involves the primary oversight and personal performance of design, inspection, and certification activities for County bridge construction and reconstruction projects. Acting as an engineering consultant to the Commissioner of Public Works, the incumbent may be consulted on any matter requiring professional engineering expertise, including County road and landfill projects. Supervision will be exercised over engineering staff and oversight of the field w
