The Department of Earth and Climate Sciences at Middlebury College invites applications for a two year visiting position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning fall 2024. We seek a climate scientist who studies Earth's hydrosphere, cryosphere, atmosphere, or other environmental systems with approaches that might include, but are not limited to, numerical modeling, spatial analysis, or data science. The successful applicant will be expected to teach the equivalent of 4.5 courses per year including introductory courses and upper-level courses in their area of expertise. The ideal applicant will also be prepared to involve undergraduate students in an active research program. The department has a wide array of analytical instrumentation (e.g.: SEM, XRD, XRF, ICP-MS) and temporary laboratory space available.
