Summary - Under the general direction of the CEO, the Director of Quality is responsible for establishing, maintaining, auditing and improving the Quality Systems of Lapp NA Subsidiaries towards continuous customer satisfaction improvement. Primary activities are to aid subsidiaries in obtaining their ISO Certifications, in keeping abreast of regulatory certifications and quality methods, and in consistently improving the internal LAPP Quality targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as the Management Representative for all quality matters such as, but not limited to, ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015
Establish and implement Corporate Quality Policies and Procedures
Work with the different LAPP entities in the North America Region and their associated departments to consistently reduce the customer complaints and other quality metrics; ensure building of relevant action-plans and counter-measures and monitor in time
Work with LAPP’s departments to approve and on-board new vendors; monitor performance in time, including through on-site auditing and build action-plans accordingly
Regularly audit internal LAPP departments towards continuous improvement goals
Ensure that all Lapp Employees are familiar with , Company Policy Statement
Train Internal Auditors for all subsidiaries, prepare audit schedules, final reports and working papers
Conduct ISO Awareness Meeting with all new employees
Develop and monitor inspection plans to assure product quality
Perform LAPP internal 2007P and 2007S audits, as required to maintain approved suppliers
Report to management and place on record the full findings of all audits
Receive all assessors, customers, and other bona fide third parties who wish to examine or review the company's quality systems
Conduct surveys (external customers) on customers to ensure the satisfaction is benchmark and maintained at all subsidiaries
Responsible for implementation of Corrective Action Plans and Preventative Measure to ensure continued customer satisfaction is achieved
Prepare audit scheduling. Act as Lead Assessor for audits
Facilitate Management Review Meetings as outlined in the ISO Standard for all subsidiaries
Maintain regulatory approvals, Nafta Certificates, and test documentation for Lapp USA
Risk Management Owner
Issue Quality Alerts, when required
Assist with CSR, environmental regulations inquiries and customer documentation
Corporate Quality Team Member - Corporate quality team consists of representatives from Asia, Europe and North America
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university
Minimum of 5 years in career related experience, preferably in the technical wire & cable industry
Minimum of 10 years of managerial or supervisory experience
ISO Lead Auditor – Certification required
Full understanding of ISO/QS standards
Certification in quality, CQA, CQE, or CQT preferred
Travel Requirements - This position may require occasional travel upon request.
