• Responsible for designs, CAD drawings, and specifications on assigned projects, under the guidance/direction of Project Manager
• Works with other engineers on a project team, maintaining effective communication with project team members, other departments, suppliers, and clients
• Coordinates with drafters, designers, and staff engineers within project team
• Accountable for design calculations and plan development
• Completes drawings/project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule; reviews drawings for completeness, accuracy, and constructability.
• Develops conceptual and basic engineering documents including studies, design criteria, equipment specifications, etc.
• Utilizes computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
• Performs field work by obtaining field information.
• Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Skills/Knowledge

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution required
• 8 plus years of experience in design engineering
• Ohio Professional Engineering License required
• Ability to design in MicroStation Open Roads Designer
• Experience designing ODOT projects preferred
• Working knowledge of computer-aided design software and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering required (i.e., AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
