Performs architectural system design and development of technical solutions for both new and existing applications including vendor system integrations and e-commerce systems. Documents application, database, and operation system infrastructures. Performs all duties involved with the application development life cycle. Instills discipline and methodology of high quality software development within the team. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Work is performed under general supervision of the Application Development Manager.
Uses software architecture principles to design and construct complex data systems, applications and web services to fulfill business requirements and comply with industry standards. Performs all duties of the application development life cycle while setting guidelines and standards for software solutions including the ideas of reuse and patterns that lead to consistent methodologies. Oversees design, structure and implementation of SQL databases, stored procedures, data storage and backup requirements. Works to ensure the security of corporate data and intellectual property. Researches and leverages applicable technology trends to continually improve KUA software solutions. Serves as expert and mentor in all aspects of application design and development. Occasionally coordinates the work of programming staff. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/specialist. Responsible for e-Commerce transactions and sites, including real-time and static data exchange with customers, vendors, and financial entities. Consults with internal and external customers to refine application needs and furnishes support as required for the Information Technology Department. Works with software vendors to resolve problems and participates in vendor product implementations including upgrades, patching and testing. Performs other related tasks as assigned.
