Responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured are in accordance with the company's quality assurance program, and quality and reliability standards satisfy customer specifications and expectations. Serve as the final decisionmaker over the shipment of products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the development, implementation and strict adherence to a quality assurance program. Develops and/or reviews standards, policies and procedures for all functions and departments involved with or related to the production of all products.
Accountable for the inspection of incoming raw materials and reports the quantity of accepted materials to Business Development & Operations Department.
Administers QA documentation system: developing and updating forms, checklists, database, and training of personnel.
Trains, develops, and supervises the quality inspectors and other production staff to perform all necessary quality inspections of in-process and finished products.
Reviews and resolves quality control problems and concerns with the General Manager of Operations and others including vendors, customers, quality control personnel and any personnel related to production. Coordinates and assists with vendor inspections.
Inspects and investigates customer returns and initiates corrective action. Reviews complaint trends and product/component failure analysis; assist with the review of corrective actions with.
Prepares reports and other documentation required by regulatory agencies and to support the quality assurance function.
Administers the rework process by inspecting and determining whether the rejected product can be reworked sufficiently to meet customer requirement.
Ensures all testing and measuring equipment are calibrated to specification and are in working order.
Schedules and performs quality assurance audits and reports findings to the EVP & COO, General Manager of Operations, and General Manager of Business Development & Operations.
Takes the lead in the company’s ISO certification and audits.
Follows all company polices and safety polices.
EDUCATIONAL OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
A college degree is required with a major in engineering or a technical field preferred.
At least 8 years of experience in manufacturing setting. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in Quality Assurance function.
Familiarity with ISO procedures, especially 9001 and 14001.
Familiarity with testing and measuring tools that are common in the metal fabrication industry.
Familiarity with welding and metal fabrication process.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, to store, track, and analyze QA data.
Experience with utilizing the Internet, web browsing, and on-line tools to conduct business research.
Familiarity with cloud-based productivity and project management applications (e.g., Office365).
Strong project management skills.
Ability to coach and develop people effectively.

Currently we are manufacturing stainless doors for passenger rail cars to be delivered to the New York Metro area. The contract extends to 2027 with high likelihood of additional contracts.
