Title: Civil/Structural Engineer Overview Bragg Companies is seeking an experienced structural/civil engineer to join our in our Long Beach facility. Candidate will provide technical support to our Crane, Construction, Rigging, Industrial, Nuclear and Heavy Transport Divisions. This position offers the opportunity to participate in challenging and unique projects in the heavy-lift heavy-haul, and steel construction industries. Candidate will work closely with our project teams to develop unique construction solutions and to create safe and executable lifting, erection, and transportation plans. Duties & Responsibilities - Prepare and review structural analysis and design calculations of payloads and equipment using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas and experience.
- Analyze existing steel buildings/structures and support demolition or relocation work, including modular steel structural construction.
- Support new design and development of lifting/rigging hardware for critical lifts.
- Support internal equipment fleet structural repairs and coordinate with JHA as needed
- Evaluate temporary loads for construction projects including falsework design, connection design, shoring design, and stability analysis.
- Provide technical guidance on complex design and field issues.
- Produce detailed fabrication drawings and specifications, utilizing design software such as Autocad, Solidworks, Revit.
- Prepare preliminary concepts and designs for quotes and comment on project specifications to support sales and customer support
- Interact with contractors, fabricators, owners and clients, sometimes as lead, other times as a peer in team environments.
- Provide field support including recording existing field conditions, taking and verifying measurements within project area, and identify information gaps that might increase risk to overall success.

Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering concentration required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Register Professional Engineer (PE) in California or Register Professional Structural Engineer (SE).
- Experience in design and analysis of structural steel buildings and structures.
- Strong background in Construction & procurement.
- Experienced in design and analysis of Falsework, Bolted Connections, Welded connection & Shoring & structural stability.
- Experience reading, reviewing, and approving shop and fabrication drawings.
- 8 - 10 years of experience in structural design/analysis.
- Up to 20% travel required.
Preferred Skills & Experience. - Construction background; experience in crane and rigging.
- Experience preparing or evaluating critical lifting and heavy transport plans with industry software.
- Refinery maintenance & turnarounds.
- Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, AISC codes and experience in their application.
- Strong interpersonal, written communications, and presentation skills.
- Experience using modeling software, Solidworks, Autocad 3D, Revit.
- Knowledge in computational calculations using Mathcad or MatLab.
- Design experience using RISA 3D or Solidworks Simulation FEA (or equivalent)
