A postdoctoral position in musculoskeletal regeneration, with a focus on integrative cartilage repair, is available in the Soft Tissue Bioengineering Laboratory at the University of Colorado Boulder.
The research will target the development and evaluation of new techniques for cartilage repair using metrics to characterize tissue integration and function/biomechanics. A key effort of the position will involve development and preclinical translation of new scaffold materials for improved articular cartilage health using in vitro models and a time-course in vivo study in a large animal (goat) model.
A candidate with a background in musculoskeletal biology or mechanics is preferred. The candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of engineering-based design methods and mechanobiology in the context of regeneration and recellularization, and will work with a highly interdisciplinary team of basic scientists, and human and veterinary clinicians. The position is funded by the Department of Defense.
The University of Colorado Boulder is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for multiscale and multifunctional evaluation of musculoskeletal tissues. We additionally partner with Colorado State University to conduct animal studies.
The University of Colorado is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates of underrepresented populations are encouraged to apply. CU Boulder is located along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, conveniently near Denver. Boulder is consistently ranked as one of the best cities in the country in terms of quality of life.
Applications for this position should include a CV, brief statement of research interests and background, and the contact information for 2-3 references, and should be emailed as an attachment to:
