Salary: $108,368 Annually, negotiable depending on qualifications

Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday
Other: Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.
Plans, directs and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Roadway Production Division. Administers, coordinates, schedules and monitors the design, right-of-way acquisition, preparation of contract documents, bidding, and construction of the County’s Five-Year Road Program, as it relates to thoroughfare roads. Coordinates thoroughfare road improvements that are proposed by developers and others. Administers and coordinates the Consultant Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA) process, from advertisement through negotiation. Monitors the County’s Land Survey Section and Municipal Service Taxing Unit (MSTU) program. Coordinates all utility work for the department. Work requires the exercise of considerable independent judgment/initiative and is performed under the general supervision of the Deputy County Engineer.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; minimum of six (6) years of technical experience in roadway/drainage design and project development, including two (2) years of experience in the administrative and supervisory aspects of the work. Equivalency: Related Master’s Degree and five (5) years of related experience, including two (2) years of experience in the administrative and supervisory aspects of the work.
Necessary Special Requirement: Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain licensure by endorsement within 12 months of hire.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH: Long range planning; budget development; Florida Eminent Domain laws; organizing teams of mid-level/senior engineering staff.
