We are actively seeking a Process Engineer for our Macon, Georgia location.
Responsible for evaluating operations to produce products and develops processes to ensure quality, safety, cost and efficiency requirements are met. This position troubleshoots problems with production and takes corrective action. Also researches the purchase of equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.
Evaluates, implements and monitors processes and operating systems within manufacturing or processing of industrial minerals for process improvements, cost reduction, reliability, or quality improvements
Creates/maintains necessary documentation such as equipment operating manuals, work instruction, training materials
Ensures technology integration between systems (PLCs, HMIs, Proficy); provides technical support and troubleshooting as needed
Assesses projects, past and present related to safety and environmental impact; collaborates extensively with EHS team
Supports the conversion of small scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations
Monitors and improves the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from technology and operations personnel
Generates standard and ad-hoc reports; establishes/maintains metrics related to engineering and/or operational efficiencies
Analyzes equipment failures, conducts root cause analysis and recommends corrective actions
Researches, recommends, and justifies capital expenditures; leads cross-functional teams during all phases of implementation
Participates in customer installations and training; ensures documentation is forwarded to EHS team
Follow and adhere to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position/department and as required by ISO
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in minerals processing or other relevant experience
Ability to operate well in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Possess strong organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Proficiency in PLCs
Demonstrated knowledge of MSHA, OSHA and other safety publications incorporated by reference such as ANSI, ASME, NFPA, etc.
