Faculty positions in the MIS Division, Price College of Business, University of Oklahoma
The MIS division at the Price College of Business, University of Oklahoma (OU), seeks to fill two tenure-track positions for the Fall of 2020. One position, at the Senior Assistant/Associate level, is to recruit a faculty with high-quality research and teaching to support our university and college’s strategic thrust in Aerospace and Defense. Aerospace and Defense is a key industry in nearby Oklahoma City, and the University of Oklahoma seeks to build several programs across the university. The University of Oklahoma is committed to becoming a leader in the central U.S. in applied aerospace and defense research and education. Price College will launch an Executive MBA in Aerospace and Defense in Fall 2020.
The second position is at the Assistant level to support our growth in undergraduate and graduate programs. We seek a person with skills in database, software engineering, business analytics, or a closely related area.
Our strong and growing programs in the MIS division build on a solid history of excellence, distinguished faculty members, and an active industry partnership. The division offers an undergraduate major and minor in MIS, graduate programs in the Management of Information Technology with emphasis in Business Analytics, and a PhD degree. It operates the Center for MIS Studies (CMISS), an industry-academic partnership, through which faculty and business partners collaborate on research and curriculum development. Faculty members are world-renowned, engaged in thriving research programs, generate external research funding, play leadership roles in top journals and conferences, and are outstanding teachers. Candidates must have an earned PhD in MIS or related disciplines, or ABD with dissertation defended by August 31, 2020. Desirable qualifications include evidence of excellent research and teaching. Preference will be given to applicants with a productive research record whose research and teaching capabilities align well with the MIS division’s various areas of research and teaching, and the college’s emphasis on aerospace and defense, health and energy.
